Patricia (“Pat”) Kelly has focused on employment law throughout her career. She started practicing law as a representative of employers, but has focused primarily on representation of employees for the past fifteen years. She has found her representation of employers to have provided a unique perspective for understanding the points of view of both parties, which has assisted her in recognizing unlawful employer practices and actions.
Pat grew up in the Chicago area. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois. She then travelled to California and obtained a law degree from Stanford University. She has been, and continues to be, active in the Contra Costa County Bar Association (“CCCBA.”) She is a past President of the Women’s Section of the CCCBA , a member of the editorial board of CCCBA’s monthly magazine and on the Executive Committee for the CCCBA Inns of Court.
Frequent Speaker on Employment Discrimination & Sexual Harassment
Pat has been a speaker on the television program, “On the Record.” She also has been a speaker on the subject of sexual harassment and employment discrimination for the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. Pat also assisted in the production and marketing of “All in a Day’s Work” – a gender bias video created by Queen’s Bench and which won national recognition at the American Bar Association Convention.
Outside of the office, Pat enjoys art shows, reading mystery novels and taking in the beauty of Shell Ridge Open Space and Briones Regional Park. She is also a member of the Stanford Professional Women’s Group.
